The Good Sex Network

Penn & Teller: Bullshit! is one of my favourite TV shows. It uses comedy to shed the light of truth on many serious social topics. A couple of weeks ago, they dealt with the war on porn. Very entertaining and informative! I highly recommend it.

One of the anti-porn experts on the show claimed that watching porn can lead to an increased incidence of rape in our society. Penn & Teller clearly showed that this was bullshit.

This same expert made the astonishing claim that mainstream porn is a sort of “gateway drug” to child pornography. WTF?!! This is the stupidest statement I’ve ever heard!

Mainstream porn and child porn are two completely different things. People don’t enjoy both. Mainstream porn is healthy, fun, and natural. Child porn is a sick perversion. Anybody who links the two together is a bullshit artist.

Another point the show raised is that there is no scientific evidence whatsoever that porn leads to relationship break-ups. This is more bullshit from the conservative anti-porn crusaders trying to instill sexual fear in all of us.

Make it your mission to watch this show. Look for it in your TV guide. TiVo it. Do whatever you have to but do catch it. It’ll be the best 30 minutes you’ve ever spent watching television.
